It is often easier to fall into patterns of behavior and thought than it is to keep an open mind, to think, and exist outside of societal norms and standards. Art provides an arena in which creative minds can test the waters; explore new ideas and ways of looking at and acting in the world. Yet it is still a struggle. A struggle laid bare by an informed sense of humor and dash of the absurd.
This show explores the necessity to reinvent, and/or reassert the artistic process and practice. Though it might work against the grain of commercial expectation, this act of courage changes our rhythm and gait. This can be monumental, or intimate, in an artist’s day-to-day practice.
